Creating Links with Microsoft Word
Hyperlinks are elements in an electronic document that link to another place in the same document or to an entirely different document.
Create a hyperlink in a Word document.
To Create a Link
Highlight the **** that you wish to link.
Go to the Insert menu - Hyperlink, or click on the link icon on the toolbar.
The hyperlink dialog box appears.
In the "**** to Display" box will be the **** you highlighted on the page.
In the left column "Existing File or *** Page" will be selected.
To choose another document that you created, look for it in the folder section in the middle.
To link to an outside resource, type in a URL in the "Address" ****box near the bottom of the dialog box.
Set Target Frame: The Target Frame button on the right sets whether the link will open in the same browser ****** (Page default) or in a new browser ******. The new browser ****** is useful if you do not want the user to move away from your original *** site (there will be two browser ******s open at once).
To remove a hyperlink: Select the link you created. Reopen the hyperlink dialog box (from the insert menu or from the icon). Click on the "Remove Link" button in the bottom right corner.
Other choices on the left menu include:
Place in this document: this creates an "anchor" to another location on the same page.
Create a new document: allows you to new document that will be linked to your original page.
Email Address: allows you to create an email link that will launch the users email client with the email address in the to field.
